Conservation Biology & Wildlife Forensic Research Laboratory
Conservation Biology & Wildlife Forensic Research Laboratory
Conservation of Wildlife & Early Diagnosis of Zoonotic Diseases through basic Research & Services for making Life in Harmony with Nature is the Main Vision of the Conservation Biology & Wildlife Forensics Research Laboratory.
01/27
Conservation Biology & Wildlife Forensics Research Laboratory offers quality & timely research services in the fields of Wildlife Conservation, Wildlife Forensics, Age Estimation, Disease Diagnosis, Environmental Pollution, Breed & Parentage Analysis to various Governmental, Non-Governmental & Private Sectors
CBWFRL is registered under the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India with Udyam Registration No. UDYAM-JK-07-0024895. The laboratory is aimed to get accredited from NABL, soon
We offer Wildlife Conservation services, through ecological & genetic based approaches so that the wild populations of different species may be managed in a better & scientific way, to the Wildlife Departments of different States in India
We provide Wildlife (Animals & Plants) Forensic services to the to the different law enforcement agencies, Forest Departments, Custom Agencies, Police, Judiciary & other stakeholders to deal with Illegal Wildlife Trade at the National & International levels. We develop new SOPs for combatting the Illegal Wildlife Trade
We provide accurate age estimation in years and months for Tiger, Lion, Chital, Bear & other mammalian species through Cementum Annuli Analysis. Aging is helpful in the management of wild populations, age class preference of prey & in illegal wildlife trade, habitat quality conditions & making of reproductive histories of Black & Brown Bear species.
We provide the Disease Pathogen (Bacterial/ Fungal/ Viral) diagnosis in wild animals & livestock
We provide parentage & breed analysis in wild animals & livestock
We provide Microplastic detection in Terrestrial & Aquatic Habitats
Ecology of the faunal diversity
Population Genetic Structure
Population assignment and Relatedness
Isolation by Distance
Species & Sex Identification
DNA-Barcoding of faunal diversity
Estimation of the minimum number of individuals.
Analysis of genetic isolation/ Geographical barriers between populations.
Corridor functionality status
Selective breeding assistance
Sibling analysis
Phylogenetic analysis
